We met in 2012 at Sparky’s Pub in San Antonio, Texas. We met during a game of pool and continued talking over the next several months. After many pool lessons, our first official date was when Michael asked that if he won a game of pool, we would go on a date at a local restaurant. Chris claims that at this moment he threw his first game of pool, but Michael knows the truth.

In 2022, we invited a group of friends to dinner at Liberty Bar in San Antonio, Texas. It had been quite a while since everyone was able to come together in person, so the excitement level was high. As dinner and drinks progressed, Michael got up and surprised Chris in front of everyone with a proposal. It was a special moment shared with close friends. After dating for over ten years, it was time to take the leap forward.

One of our most memorable trips was an amazing cruise with friends to the Mediterranean. It was an incredible trip through France, Italy, and Spain. A lot of memories were made on this trip, and we had many great adventures exploring Europe. The trip ended with dinner at the #1 restaurant in the world at the time, El Celler de Can Roca, in Girona, Spain. This six-hour meal captured some of the best food we’ve ever experienced.

Another memorable trip was to Cancun, Mexico. Prior to traveling, we wondered if we would get bored at the beach for a week after the previous adventure through Europe. We quickly discovered that Cancun was an adventure in and of itself and relaxing on the beach for a week was exactly what we needed. We enjoyed Cancun so much that we can’t wait to go back in 2024 for our honeymoon!

Chris: “Michael is an extrovert, spotlight stealer, world traveler, writer, and chef. When he graduated from college, he packed up his car and moved to Chicago. In Chicago, he learned his love for food and later went to culinary school to become a chef. Today, Michael enjoys sharing these moments with me. When I first met Michael, I knew there was a deeper connection. His ability to get me out of my shell and calmness is what adheres closest to my heart.”

Michael: “Chris usually holds the spotlight for me. He loves music, animals, and is never one to turn a shoulder on someone in need. He also frequently feeds his lunch to stray animals. Chris loves movies, comics, deep thoughts, video games, and playing pool and darts. He also loves to beat me in most board and pool games—but I know the truth. Chris is very passionate and patient with me. I enjoy introducing him to new things and new adventures and seeing him laugh at the stupid stuff I do and say.”
